International Days
The Study Abroad & International Student Services Office and the Center for Student Success organized an international week at the American University of Armenia. The purpose of the event was to invite AUA international & local students to an event in celebration of the International Week, create a cozy and collaborative atmosphere and to reinforce communication between local and international students. The event took place from May 6-7, from 2PM-6PM. The location was Student Union, workshop & lounge area.
Each international day gave students a chance to take part in activities related to the theme of each day.
On the first day, there was a Power Point Presentation: “Customs and Traditions in Different Cultures” made by a student which was followed up by a discussion. Later, the event was followed by activities like henna painting, mandalas and Sudoku. Students had a chance to interact with each other, experience a painting done by an Indian henna painter, participate in competitions and win a certificate and a prize.
On the second day, there was a Power Point Presentation: “Unique Wedding Customs in Different Cultures” and a discussion followed. Afterwards, the event was flavored with piano and song performances by AUA local students accompanied with food and drinks. The closure of the event was summed up by demonstration of national costumes of different countries.
